type='text'>On the waiting line.

The feeling is quite overwhelming.
After a few days of uncertainty soon I will be able to depart from Milan towards Cairo, but I can't really say much about what's going on over there.
For what I could read on the newspapers the situation is still very intense, but the news I had from my friends that live there talk about a sort of tense tranquillity after a few days of uprising.
Others say that the protests are getting tough again, and that the outcomes are impossible to foresee.
Hopefully the worst part of this "2nd revolution" is gone and everything is getting quiet before the elections that will start on Monday, November 28th.
Maybe...but nobody knows, and it's hard to believe.
Still, I am very excited to go back to Tahrir...
When I was there, on the first days of March, I had a sort of epiphany : in the middle of the friday protests I was tryin' to get some decent shots, when I felt someone pulling me from my sleeve.
I started thinking about incoming problems from some enraged local when I suddendly saw a bunch of young kids yelling at my back and waiting for me to take pictures of them, holding photos of friends and relatives died during the revolution.
In a few minutes I found myself trapped in the middle of a crowd, everyone thinking that I was a journalist, everybody asking me to take a shot of this moment of freedom after 30 years.
I never felt so accepted.
I never felt like if someone was needing me in that way.
They wanted me to be there, they needed me to be there to show the world what was going on, to record what they could conquer with the force of their bare hands and the bravery of this wonderful youth.
It was overwhelming.
Going back there, 9 months later, in the middle of these new demostrations, is a sort of dream that comes true...I wish Egypt a bright future, after all these struggles.
For the moment that's all, folks.
So...see you tomorrow, Cairo.
Good night, and good luck.

<img width='1' height='1'
